Yoichi Adachi (SPAZIO Architects Aterier)

It is important to make the most of local materials, skills, and human resources for sustainable building. The plane and cross section were based on ceder lumber dimensions of 3～ 6m so that local constructors can work on it. A large open-ceiling space was made by using CLT36 for sheathing roof boards to secure a horizontal structure with a series of 6m-long beams of ordinary lumber. The building was designed to offer a place to experience, learn, and enjoy timber architecture, and to serve as an exhibition facility.
