GREEN SPRINGS is a complex facility planned on a 4-hectare site facing Showa Kinen Park on the north side of Tachikawa Station. Only 150% of allowable floor area ratio of 500% was built and the rest became a “vacant space”, an extremely green environment that serves as a third place for citizens. It created a place that contributes to the sustainable development of the community, where various functions, greenery, breeze, light, and people's activities gently overlap and generate various interactions through a public plaza where everyone can come and go as they please.
