Toshiya Yasuda, Ryouhei Shinozaki, Ayumi Sasaoka, Azusa Uchimura (Yamashitasekkei)

TANKAKU HALL, consisting of a hall, library, and Kumano Studies Center, is located in an environment where a unique culture has been nurtured as the center of the Kumano faith. A superimposition of two functions was realized: a library that allows visitors to view the unique regional landscape by placing it along the perimeter of the building, and a hall that can be transformed to a theater or a museum. Our goal was to create a new public space that would endure and grow over time by overlaying two spaces of "a place for overlook the community" and "a place where everyone can come together and participate in activities”.
