This facility was planned in the center of Nakatsugawa City as a base for four functions: library, community center, tourist base, and childcare support, and was designed to attract people and activate the city. It features”Engawa Terrace” that connects to the streetscape along the Nakasendo road, vertical lattices, and a roof shape with low eaves. The mashup, reversible, borderless planning method, along with an open space truss structure, wall columns, and a lighting and thermal environment that ensures variability and uniformity, have created a space that can accommodate a variety of activities.
