The house incorporates the row of cherry trees that stretches across the west side of the site into the home’s lifestyle, and features aluminum blind folding doors and a greenery cage as its façade to provide privacy and control the western sun. These are the eyelashes of the house. They control the living environment like a blink of an eye, blocking out the city and the living space while also softly connecting them. We hoped that this act itself would add color to the city. This is a proposal for a house that pursues, by “closing,” the openness of life in suburban residential areas that have become closed off during the process of modernization.
