This whisky distillery with an attached visitor center is located at the foot of Mount Asama and is conceived as a hub for generating a new regional ecosystem. Reflecting the philosophy of whisky-making practiced here, the architecture avoids ornamentation and carefully examines each element to reveal the inherent qualities of the materials. Under a single roof, the distillery side presents the production equipment as a showcase, while the visitor center welcomes guests beneath deep eaves clad in locally sourced larch, allowing production and experience to coexist.
