Ryu Mitarai (Ryu Mitarai & Associates, Architects)

The hut is constructed by inserting custom-made anchor bolts into four trees in the forest and bridging the foundation beams, allowing it to float above the ground. This tiny space, with a stove in the center, is made up of four bay windows that are the size of a human body and spiral upward. By opening and closing each window, whose size and mechanism are determined to correspond to the surrounding natural environment, we aimed to create an architecture that gives the feeling of being immersed in nature and enveloped in light, breeze, and warmth.
